Windows 7 is planning a notebook version

Digg!

Many users may be bothered by the fact that Vista uses a lot of battery when run on laptop therefor the user has to carry always charger or a spare battery. Microsoft seems to care a bit more when producing the new Windows 7 so is planning on publishing apart from standard PC versions (probably as were in Vista) a notebook version which will be short on graphical features which usually eats the battery very quickly. Microsoft has not stated yet how much battery will the notebook version save but we could hopefully count on about 25% of lifetime each charging.

The notebook version will not have the AERO interface because that is one of the most battery eater in the whole operating system. This feature needs a high CPU clock which is not usual in most common laptops, graphics card is also quite busy while taking care or AERO interface so users of laptops will have to give this feature up if they want to save up some of their battery lifetime. I dont thing that would be a problem because this feature is not really a vital one.
