I think there has been a mention about this new operating system however no article about it has yet been composed. Chrome OS as you can predict will come from developers of google, who decided to create another open source OS. Chrome OS based on Linux SUSE therefore we can expect very similar environment and behavior as well.

A difference that Chrome OS is going to offer is that it will mainly run web applications which are far less hardware demanding so this Chrome can very easily run on netbooks for which it is designed. Even though Linux SUSE has not worked so well on netbooks in the past Chrome OS expected to be especially designed for them. Technology on which Chrome OS is based is not totally new since similar technology has been used in Windows 98, it also contained Active Desktop which is going to be re-introduced in Chrome OS. The Active Desktop has not been so successful in case of Windows 98 however it shall work very well and be one of the strongest aspects of the new Chrome OS.
