IE 8 beta 2

IE 8 beta 2

Digg!

So Microsoft has again advanced a little bit with its development of their own web browser. The current beta version vith code number 2 is a huge difference compared to the previous version Internet explorer 7 but it is still missing lots of stuff which you would find in most of today browsers and more importantly which you would find handy.

What was and still remains an issue with this application is that it is part of Windows therefore it is not an individual programme which you could treat on its own. The intalation of new versions work automatically however you cant leave your current version of IE in you computer and pop in there a new one. What is really fine about the installation is that it is not asking many questions and intalls it right away. This fact may not bother many users but especially developers may find it pretty unpleasant because they usually like to keep old versions to watch the compatibility or to configure the installation as needed.

Mainly the design has changed to more elegant and the loolbars have been made more arranged. Finally IE 8 is able to solve ACID2 test which is today a standard for any web browsers hosever the ACID3 test is still too hard for IE 8 it completes this test for 21% which is rather dissapointing result. It is the lowest result measurend in most common browsers by the way. Also the standards of HTML and CSS code rendering are a little bit different so there might be differences compared to different browsers.

So to conclude I must say Microsoft has done some work. It has improved its web browsers but it still needs lots of work to fairly compete with the other software.
