Why will there never be a Dislike button

Why will there never be a Dislike button

Literally millions of Facebook users are obsessed with lack of dislike button under their, or better under their friends statues and comments. Hundreds of groups and pages have been composed just for this particular reason, to persuade Facebook developers to implement such button that would allow users to dislike an action. Unfortunately those who claim and think a dislike button should exist are very wrong, despite they do not understand why.

There can never be a dislike button on Facebook

A like button is a sign of agreement, some sort of positive feedback on ones actions. A dislike button is complete opposite. Now you probably ask a question. "yeah so?" If there was a dislike button, the positive impact that Facebook currently has on its users will be gone. Very probably the negative feedbacks will outnumber the positive feedbacks and people would no longer want to be a part of such negative community. It may be hard to understand, why would one little dislike button destroy the whole idea, but that would be only the starting point. Negative feedbacking will very easily lead to cyber bullying, which will completely destroy the main idea as it was meant to be in the first place, to share and spread positive energy (you know what I mean).

Take it this way. You submit a status and you receive nothing but dislikes. What if this happens with all your statuses, what if someone is deliberately trying to humiliate you, so he gives you a dislike without even reading what you did or wrote. All this has to be considered. Luckily Facebook developers are very aware of possible risks (and their huge loss of profit) if such thing as a dislike button was introduced. You can now argue that for example. YouTube has dislike buttons to videos and their comments. Well that is a different story. On Facebook everything you do is rather confidential because you are in a limited circle of people (friends, family, acquaintances) and you choose who to share with. On YouTube you share with the rest of the world and quite honestly you dont care what does John Doe living on the opposite side of the world think about your video or comment, do you?

Plaster for iPhone 4 for better signal

Plaster for iPhone 4 for better signal

The main problem of the new iPhones 4 is the antenna, which many customers complain about since the beginning of sale. Because of the poor antenna some customers have bad signal on their new iPhone 4, which causes poor reception. Due to poor signal, a conversation can happen to cut at any time. According to Apple, it´s only a matter of software, which should be fixed in a simple update. This problem should solve vinyl patch that is supposed to be glued to the left and the the bottom edge of the phone (where the antenna is installed).

Plaster is available in six versions (see picture below). Despite problems with the antenna iPhone 4 yields great interest of customers. In the first 3 days according to Apples press release, Apple sold over 1.7 million pieces.

OpenBlog edit: Author of this article agrees that this article was not submitted for any propagational reasons.

When you smoke weed the THC quickly goes from your lungs to your bloodstream which passes the chemical to main organs in your body and your brain. THC doesnt affect your whole brain, it attacks certain parts of your brain. They are called cannabinoid receptors. When those receptors are activated it sets off a number of cellular reactions thus making you, high. The different affects you feel when your high are due to the different parts of your brain that have cannabinoid receptors in them, such as memory, pleasure, thoughts concentration, time perception, and coordinated movement. which is why you expierence slower reaction time, your sex feels better and you have trouble remembering when you were saying in mid sentance.

Thats all for now guys, if you have any questions feel free to comment and ill answer. i know alot about this special plant. So ill answer your questions to the best of my ability.

Play Snake on YouTube

Play Snake on YouTube

Remember the old good Snake that occupied all Nokia cellphones and that was by far the most played phone game in the world. Apparently this era is not over yet. YouTube has integrated this simple game into its newest version of movie player. You cant play snake in the older version in which still a few millions of vids are being played. Also you cant play snake in embedded vids so you have to visit YouTube to play. None the less, its so much fun, playing snake while watching some boring video. This prank is a good one YouTube developers, real nice.

The trigger to initiate a new game is to hold left arrow while the flash video player is focused (click the video player to set focus). The game follows the original rules, once you hit any side the game ends, once you hit the snakes body the game ends and of course the goal of the game is to collect dots.

No one is sure yet when has this eastern egg been integrated but it cant be older that the newest YouTube player versions which has been introduced in spring (2010), YouTube developers havent yet revealed this secret. Enjoy playing snake.

ProfileFort - profile / page hosting

ProfileFort - profile / page hosting

A new completely new project has been initiated not long ago. ProfileFort is a service that allows you to create profiles and internet pages for your own use if you are in need to present either yourself online or to promote your work. It happens quite often, that you need to show someone online something you work on or you have great interest in and there is no way how to compose a page for it in a few minutes. Until now you had to compose it in HTML which usually took a few hours if not days and than you had nowhere to put it since webhosting is another aspect of putting something online. ProfileFort has both handled pretty well.

ProfileFort provides internet space for you that you can use either for presenting yourself in terms of producing several profiles of your person, each one for different use. One as your business contact, second as your profile to show your friends, third showing your interest and your leisure time activities. Other use would be to promote your work or something you find interest in. Say you are beginning photographer and you need to create a small website for yourself. You cant spend hundreds of dollars on a professional website but you can spend not more than half an hour composing and linking a few page together which would be more than enough to begin with.

Consider ProfileFort an internet space dedicated for your own use. What you put into your personal profile or your internet page is up to you. What happens after you are done composing is you show your friends on Facebook, you Tweet your new page or you Stumble it. this way thousands of people can see what you have to show them.

Visit ProfileFort and get the idea

Smileys are getting overrated, big time

Smileys are getting overrated, big time

Remember times when there were like 10 smiley faces and that was it? Back than everyone quickly leant how to use them but obviously didnt learn how often to use them. Today there are hundreds maybe up to thousand smileys and each IM sentence is full of them, too full of´em. As if they lost their meaning. :-) or ;) does not mean anything nowadays. Before, people used them to decorate their sentence, to show their deeper meaning and their emotion. Today its just a bunch of characters that are thrown in any sentence just to be cool enough. The meaning however is lost completely.

The original smiley :-) was supposed to be put into a sentence in a place where an emotion of irony or sarcasm or laughter was to be interpreted. If you look into your IM history and it can be anything, FB, ICQ, Skype, MNS, Jabber, you will see almost nothing more but smileys. What is that about? How can you determine any irony from a sentence when it has smiley faces on 3 different places. Do you think it was meant to be ironic or worth laughing 3 times in a row?

Women tend to use more smileys than men. There is no doubt there, however as much as this is true, also more women tend to overuse them. Afterwards instead of writing colorful and meaningful sentences interpreting feeling of a woman, only a stack of smiley faces is produces and no meaning can be read from it any more. Think about it. How many smileys you wrote in your last chat session.

Indeed I am not saying never ever again write a smiley face. Please do keep putting in smileys otherwise we would degenerate back into the 80s but use them wisely. Put a smiley face where you think the other part might be in doubt how did you really mean it. Put one in place of irony interpretation. Put a sad face if you feel sorry for someone. Do not ever overuse them, otherwise your smileys will loose any purpose and so will your sentences.

Some people have advanced to such level that they dont even think about writing smileys at all, they just seem to fall out of their sleeves as they write any sentence. Those people usually start with a smiley face, write their sentence put a few maybe between words and finish with two smileys after full stop.

:-) Hi dude, so did you see that ludicurus :-) game last night :-) :-)
[Does this sentence seem ok to you?]

If this is not enough, best smiley use comes from elderly people. They have just learn that there is such thing as a smiley and they use them 3x more than a professional smiley writer :-). Well that is quite hard to explain to them isnt it? They think they put 10 smileys after a sentence and the other part will be dazzled how creative they are. Prove me wrong on this one... Let elderly people be themselves do not interrupt them, while writing far too many smileys and focus on your amount of smileys in each sentence.
